In addition to providing a head-to-toe examination, Dr. Cavalier takes the time to answer any questions you may have about your child’s health, to determine whether any screening blood work is necessary, and to cover health topics that are pertinent to your child’s age and development.
Oh, and by the way . . . what are you getting for your $25 out-of-pocket sports physical at the local pharmacy or urgent care center? What do they mean by “sports physicals”? Is it worth $25 to have a stranger fill out your child’s form?
Joy & Crown Pediatric Specialists doesn’t treat sports physicals as something separate from the annual physical/well-child exam that every child should receive. Furthermore, per the Affordable Care Act, almost all insurance carriers now cover 100% of the contracted services provided in a wellness exam. So, once you double-check with your insurance carrier, you most likely will find that, when it comes to annual physicals, you don’t get charged a copay, and you don’t need to worry about your deductible.
Most importantly, if your child is an established Joy & Crown patient who has been seen for their well-child exam in the past 6 months or so, and you have no concerns regarding your child’s current state of health, we’re not going to charge you anything for filling out a sports physical form! Just send us the form, and Dr. Cavalier and her staff will take it from there. Why? Because the information needed to fill out that form was already gathered as part of your child’s wellness exam. That is just part and parcel of Joy & Crown being your child’s patient-centered medical home!
